JSP now major force in South America

JSP are now a major force in South America following the 100% purchase of Fagerdala Brazil.  From its new base in Sao Paulo, JSP will manufacture ARPRO® to supply the expanding automotive industry and other sectors across South America.  Further investment in capacity is anticipated ahead of increased automotive demand.  Published economic research expects strong annual average growth rates in Brazil, Argentina and other key markets.

“The use of ARPRO will increase dramatically across manufacturers and throughout vehicles", predicts JSP President and Chief Executive Officer - Europe, Middle-East and Africa, Paul Compton. “A virtuous circle of penetration and diversification:  with our strong support for innovation, and our unique ability to work with OEMs across the globe: we see the potential for further rapid growth.”

Brazil alone produces over 3 million vehicles per year and the global automotive industry has been present for over 50 years.  Starting in the 1950s with Toyota and Volkswagen and followed by Chevrolet, Ford, Mercedes and Fiat in the 60s, the remaining global brands entered Brazil in the mid-90s.
“Following on from recent initiatives in Russia, China and India, this is further evidence of JSP’s commitment as the only truly-global supplier,” says Compton.  “We have cross-continental relationships with many car-makers and look forward to deepening these relationships in South America”.

The global automotive industry is under increasing pressure to produce cars with reduced CO2emissions. A cost effective way of doing this is reducing the vehicle’s weight. Utilising ARPRO in components, particularly in bumpers, seat backs and seat cores reduce a car’s weight in a cost effective and environmentally friendly way.  For more information on this see the ARPRO Life Cycle Assessment
