Packaging - Fabricated

Fabricated Packaging
JSP plastic foams are used in a wide range of molded and fabricated packaging applications.

Fabricated Packaging is a Breeze with JSP Plastic Foams

JSP engineered plastic foams are available for packaging fabricators in a range of planks, or blocks, ready for fabrication and assembly. This line of products is available under the ARPLANK® range of products, available in plank or board shapes molded from a range of JSP foams.

Visit ARPLANK.com for more information.

JSP foams used for fabricated packaging include:

  • ARPAK® Expanded Polyethylene (EPE)
    Available densities (pcf): 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, 1.9, 2.8
  • ARPRO® Expanded Polypropylene (EPP)
    Available densities (pcf): 1.0, 1.3, 1.9, 2.8
  • Porous ARPRO® Expanded Polypropylene (P-EPP)
    Available densities (pcf): 2.8
  • ARPEX® Cross-linked Expanded Polyethylene (xEPE)
    Available densities (pcf): 1.5

All JSP packaging foams can be fabricated with standard equipment used for cutting, slicing, gluing, die cutting, skiving, wire cutting, etc.

Note: Many plastic foam densities are measured in grams per liter (g/l). To determine equivalence with pounds per cubic foot (pcf), the multiplier is 16. For example, 1.5 pcf foam is approximately 24 g/l. (1.5 x 16).

Anti-Static and Conductive Grades

ARPAK® and ARPRO® are available in Anti-Static and Conductive grades, each designed to meet specific "anti-stat" (ESD) packaging requirements. These specifications are particularly critical for sensitive electronic equipment and other applications where static sparks are hazardous.

Flame Resistance

Certain packaging specifications may require flame resistant performance properties. All JSP packaging foams are available in FR grades, which meet North American standards for flame resistance, including FMVSS-302.

Chemical Resistance

All JSP packaging foams pass the US Coast Guard CGD-770145 requirement for fuel immersion (Fuel B), as well as a range of other standards for chemical resistance.

Meeting Specifications

JSP packaging foams meet the stringent criteria of US, international and other governing agencies, as well as key automotive specifications. Click here for details in PDF form.
