ARPRO Molded Parts - Molding and Techniques

Molding and Techniques
This reusable industrial packaging is for cylindrical automotive parts, and protects the parts while helping make packing and unpacking more efficient.

Steam chest molds are the foundation of advanced techniques

ARPRO® EPP beads are molded into finished parts with cost- and time-effective aluminum steam chest molds, often with multiple cavities for higher production rates.  Depending on the size of the part and suitability of the material, steam chest molds can represent significant cost and time savings compared to molds required for alternative plastics technologies, such as injection molding.

Steam chest molds feature hollow spaces within each half, and the walls of each half are hollow to convey steam and pressure to the interior of the closed mold.

When the mold halves are closed, ARPRO® beads are injected into the void. Steam and pressure is then released into the mold void to fuse the ARPRO® beads together into the finished shape.

Specialized molding techniques

Beyond the basics there is a range of advanced, specialized molding techniques developed by JSP that add versatility and, ultimately, added product value to manufacturers and end-users.
