Textured grain can be molded directly into the surface of ARPRO® parts.

Texture Molded Directly Into the Surface of ARPRO® EPP Parts

The surface may be either ARPRO® EPP or Laminated ARPRO®, where a covering of TPO (thermoplastic olefin), cloth or other covering is adhered to the ARPRO® part during the molding process.

JSP design engineers routinely work with customers to create a textured surface most suitable for specific application requirements. A textured, or grained, surface can be designed to accommodate a virtually infinite range of styles, colors and aesthetic requirements.

This technique can be particularly effective when used in combination with ARPRO® Colors. In addition, Technical Grain surface texture helps mask the "beaded" surface appearance typical of molded EPP products.

In some cases, such as children's products and toys, this can mean that the product is ready for use as it comes from the mold, without further fabrication, assembly or additional surface treatments required.
